Course overview
The Capture the Action Film Bank provides a variety of age-appropriate, intelligent, and inspiring short films for teachers to use in the classroom. When teaching filmmaking, it’s important to regularly show short films to your students and discuss them.
In an age when children and young people receive much of their education, information, and entertainment via moving images, it makes sense that they should be visually literate. Through viewing, analysing, and interpreting films, children and young people can become engaged, critical, and well-informed viewers.
When we teach visual literacy and expose students to intelligent, high-quality films with important messages, they are likely to be more discerning consumers of screen content.
Importantly, we are also helping to shape the future of the film industry by opening pathways to our students and inspiring them to realise their potential as filmmakers, directors, producers, actors, screenplay writers, set designers, and camera operators……. the sky’s the limit!
